In a recent interview with Business Leaders Magazine, Founding Chairman of the Global Carbon Council, Dr. Yousef Alhorr discussed the GCC Program’s role in driving global sustainability. He highlighted GCC’s unique position as the first international carbon credit program based in the Global South, its rigorous project evaluation process, and its accreditation by international bodies like ICAO and ICROA. The Chairman also addressed how this initiative aligns with Qatar’s long-term sustainability goals, emphasizing the importance of carbon market mechanisms in promoting cleaner technologies and energy efficiency. He also outlined the critical GHG projects for the Gulf region’s low-carbon growth.
