The stakeholder workshop on “Growth of Alternate Financing for Zero Emission Trucks (ZETs) through Carbon Credits and Green Credits in India,” held on March 3, 2025, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and market experts to explore financing mechanisms for accelerating ZET adoption.
With the transportation sector contributing significantly to India’s emissions, integrating carbon and green credits into the ZET financing ecosystem offers a promising solution. The discussions covered the role of Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, international voluntary carbon markets, and the India Green Credit Program (GCP) in enabling structured financing pathways.
GCC was pleased to participate in this dialogue, with Shalini contributing insights on leveraging high-integrity carbon crediting frameworks to unlock funding opportunities for ZETs. The exchange of perspectives during the roundtable discussions underscored the need for market-driven approaches that align with India’s e-Mobility and net-zero ambitions.
