Institutional Set up of GCC

GCC maintains an impartial regulator’s position in the voluntary carbon market. GCC is responsible for approving projects and issuing Approved Carbon Credits (ACCs) and overseeing the Verifiers accredited under the Program. GCC is advised by its Advisory Board and policy matters which is comprising of prominent public/private sector organizations willing to stimulate climate actions in the region. GCC convenes steering committees for technical work and advice and collaborate with national and international experts on specific areas related to projects and standards for greenhouse gas reduction. GCC facilitates the owners of GHG reduction projects through innovative climate finance contributed by project supporters.
