IETA recognizes Global Carbon Council among global decarbonization solutions

IETA’s Integrity Pathway

Ahead of COP27, the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) and ITN Business have co-produced a program titled ‘Net Zero: The Integrity Pathway’, which highlights best practices and innovative solutions in carbon reduction and offsetting.

Among the organizations recognized in ‘Net Zero: The Integrity Pathway’ is Global Carbon Council (GCC) – a Qatar-based voluntary carbon market helping local, regional and international organizations meet their climate obligations by providing them with high-integrity carbon credits to offset their unavoidable emissions.

Also highlighted in the video is the role of Baladna’s Methane Abatement Project. In the first project of its kind, GCC partnered with Qatar’s largest dairy producer Baladna to help them manage waste and reduce methane emissions. The GHG mitigation project reduces the amount of methane released in the atmosphere.  Through GCC program, Baladna measures the impact of its initiative and gets it verified by a third party to estimate the receipt of the carbon credits for equivalent emission reductions.
