Project Owners are invited to submit their projects to the GCC Program.
We accept high-quality projects that have demonstrated their additionality in the reduction and/or removal of GHG emissions, while ensuring that project construction and operations do not cause any net harm to the environment and society and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A credit labeling system is used to grade credits originating from projects offering different inputs to SDGs.
- GCC-eligible projects cover a diverse range of activities for mitigating and/or removing greenhouse gas emissions. These activities include, Renewable Energy projects (such as solar, wind and hydroelectric projects), Methane Avoidance, Energy Efficiency, Waste Management, Transportation projects (such as electric vehicles and projects to maximize fuel efficiency), Nature-Based Solutions (e.g., Agriculture and Forestry) and others.
- GCC appreciates projects that do no-net-harm to Environment (E+) and Society (S+) and contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG+). We encourage project owners to aim for as many SDGs as their projects align with, in line with specific country priorities. This ranges from creating job opportunities for locals to reducing environmental hazards for local communities and enhancing the well-being and welfare of people.
To submit a project, it is necessary to create a Project Owner’s account on the GCC Project Portal. This account enables the electronic submission of project documents. Please note that hard copies are not eligible.
Detailed information on how to create a Project Owner’s account can be downloaded from here.
A complete set of project documents intended for submission to GCC includes:
