The Global Carbon Council (GCC) welcomes Verifit Colombia S.A.S. as the 17th Validation and Verification Body (VVB) in its network. The Project owners in Latin America now have access to local VVB registered in the region.
Verifit Colombia S.A.S. has successfully completed the evaluation process and met the rigorous standards required under the ISO Track for GCC’s approval. The entity is now authorized to provide project validation and verification services under the following GHG scopes:
- Energy (renewable/non-renewable sources)
- Waste handling and disposal
- Afforestation and reforestation
In addition to greenhouse gas (GHG), Verifit Colombia is also approved to assess Environmental No-Harm (E+), Social No-Harm (S+), and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG+) contributions.
The inclusion of Verifit Colombia S.A.S. reinforces GCC’s mission to ensure VVB presence in all the continents while maintaining the highest standards of environmental integrity. This new VVB will play a vital role in supporting the credibility of greenhouse gas reduction claims, ensuring transparency and accuracy in carbon markets.
